This renowned historical library collection (started in 1682) is housed in impressive portrait lined 19th century premises designed for the College. 50,000 printed monographs on subject areas that include medicine, botany, science and travel. The Manuscript Catalogue contains around 1000 entries, many from the 18th century when Edinburgh was the leading centre for medical education.
