Located in the heart of the capital, with six exhibition galleries, the City Art Centre is Scotland's emporium of the visual arts. It hosts an amazing range of temporary exhibitions, and holds a fine art collection of around 3,500 works of Scottish art: paintings, watercolours, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture and tapestries.
From 13 May - 9 July 2006 it hosted the 'Anatomy Acts' exhibition, a 'cutting edge' blend of history, imagination and the senses, exploring the social, cultural and scientific significance of anatomy in Scotland over the past 500 years. This is a Scotland & Medicine: Collections & Connections project, and is currently on display in Dundee and St Andrews, and will tour to Thurso, Inverness and Glasgow in 2007.
