Hopetoun House is a unique gem of Europe’s architectural heritage and undoubtedly ‘Scotland’s finest stately home’. Built by Scottish architects Sir William Bruce and William Adam, there is a fine collection of porcelain, paintings, furniture and tapestries.

There is an extensive Estate archive including 17th century medical correspondence between Scottish Physicians and Herman Boerhavve of Leiden. Interested parties should contact the Archivist at Hopetoun House Preservation Trust by email at enquiries@hopetounhouse.com or by phoning our general switchboard on 0131-331 2451.
