We are a local social history collection. As part of our collection, we have most of the contents of both a local dentist practise and a local chemist shop. Keith the Chemist was based in St Andrews and ran from 1936-1966. Collection includes chemists’ drawers and display cabinet, bottles, jars, gadgets, bed pans, pill machines, ointments, microscopes, cachet machines, travelling medicine case and syringe cases. David Duncan the Dentist was based in Cupar, and was a jeweller who turned dentist in 1830s. Collection includes dentist bench (over 200 years old), stains for plastic teeth, jewellers flame, anvil and hammer, vulcaniser, tools, dentures and certificate.
