Boer War Medical Team

During the Boer War, Cheyne served as Consultant Surgeon to Lord Roberts. He reported widely on the appalling conditions facing surgeons and medical staff in the field, and a series of glass slides in Fetlar Museum Trust’s collection were probably used to illustrate his lectures on his return.
