Sir Ian Hill’s unipolar leads
This unassuming tangle of wires is actually the first unipolar lead system used in Britain, and proved a significant step forward in the accurate diagnosis of heart disease. It was developed by Sir Ian Hill, Professor of Medicine at the Universities of St Andrews and Dundee, President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and Honorary Physician to the Queen in Scotland.
